The design challenge
Capture meaningful detail without making every check-in feel clinical.
Symptom tracking becomes less useful when the logging flow is slow, rigid, or emotionally heavy. The product needed enough structure to make entries useful later while still respecting moments when a person may be tired, uncomfortable, or in a hurry.
It also needed to surface patterns and support conversations without suggesting that an app can diagnose a condition. Privacy had to be part of the product architecture, not a promise added at the end.
The approach
Keep entry fast, context flexible, and interpretation grounded.
Two clear starting points
Start with a known symptom or begin with a body area when location is the easiest detail to identify.
Details when they matter
Intensity, notes, dates, times, treatments, and custom symptoms add context without blocking a simple entry.
Episodes preserve change
Ongoing symptoms collect timestamped updates so a changing experience remains one readable story.
Observations stay honest
Pattern views describe saved entries and avoid diagnosis, prediction, or unsupported medical conclusions.
Private by design
Personal health notes remain under the person’s control.
Pevori stores journal data on the iPhone and does not require an account. There are no ads, health data is never sold, and PDF and CSV exports are created locally. Optional App Lock supports Face ID with iPhone passcode fallback.
Nothing is shared automatically. Export always begins with an explicit choice of dates and entry types, followed by a preview of what the file will contain.
