The design challenge
Create depth from movement that anyone can understand.
The core interaction is intentionally immediate: choose a direction and slide until the character reaches an obstacle. The design challenge was building hundreds of distinct puzzles from that rule while keeping routes readable on a phone.
Boards needed to communicate walls, stopping points, hazards, goals, and available tools at a glance. Each level also needed enough structure to reward planning without making failure feel punishing or confusing.
The approach
Keep the controls consistent while the board creates new decisions.
One movement model
The same slide-until-stopped rule powers every level, keeping the game easy to return to.
Readable board states
Strong tile, wall, character, and goal contrast lets players study a route before moving.
Replayable targets
Three-star move thresholds and personal bests create mastery beyond the first solution.
Optional assistance
Power-ups provide a way forward without replacing the central route-planning challenge.
Shipping and iteration
Public release made level quality an ongoing responsibility.
After launch, testing and player feedback exposed two levels that could not be completed. Version 1.0.1 corrected both, demonstrating the full operating loop behind a live product: publish, monitor, identify friction, fix the content, and release an update.
